About the winning title, Prize founder Lori Feathers says, “It’s an honor to recognize and congratulate the work of New Vessel Press with its publication of the extraordinary novel, The Remembered Soldier by Anjet Daanje, translated from the Dutch by David McKay. Small, independent publishers like New Vessel Press demonstrate time and again that art is a passion, not a corporate endeavor; that curating writers and nurturing their unique prose merits readers’ avid attention and adoration.”

Congratulations to Anjet, David, New Vessel Press, and all our 2025 finalists!

On Wednesday, February 18, the Prize judges hosted a virtual party to celebrate all longlisted authors and publishers. You can find a recording of that meeting here.

Titles of our 2025 finalists can be purchased here through Bookshop.org in support of your favorite independent bookstore.
